The otoplasty procedure is relatively simple and fairly quick. The surgeon will make an incision on the back side of the ear. After this incision is made, the surgeon will then decide if he or she will need to cut the cartilage or if they can fold it. Either way, if the cartilage is cut, the gap is sutured closed, if it is folded then the folds are sutured together.
